Week One: Day 4

Since we are living onPurpose as a family, everyone is involved.

Today's post is about my hubby, Scott.

I have to say that I am so proud of him! He is going back to school to get his High School Diploma.

The really cool part about his going back to school is that his main reason for doing so is to be a good example for our kids. You see, Scott has worked at the same company for most of the 11 years that we have been married. They obviously don't care if he has a diploma or not. Scott already is a great example for our kids. He works more hours than I could ever work a week, he is honest, he is dependable, and he loves us so much. The kids and I are truly blessed to have him as a father and husband.

Here he is working hard, he would be so embarrassed if he knew that I took this picture and posted it here!

Until next time...

Week One: Day 3

A while back I heard a song that just stuck with me. The song is by 33 Miles and it's called Thank You.

Here are the lyrics:

What if in morning when I wake up
Even before I fill my coffee cup
I said thank You
Thank You

What if I look at the day and the hours ahead
And before I move forward I bowed my head
And said thank You
Oh I said thank You

What if I looked at my life in a different way
Took a little more time to stop and pray
I know it would change all the moments in between
So here I go

Thank You for everything
Thank You for loving me
It don't even matter what tomorrow brings

Well I will sing my
Thank You for sun and rain
For what You give and take away
For all Your goodness I will always say
Thank You

Oh I'll say thank You

What if I lost everything that I had
I could smile and somehow still be glad
And say thank You
Thank you

Cause life is joy, life is pain
But the prayer on my heart will never change
I say thank You

Oh I'll say thank You

So, since I first heard the song I kept thinking that I should say thank you. I should say it before I fill my coffee cup, heck, I should say it before I get out of the bed for that matter! The problem is, I kept forgetting. I would remember when the song played on the radio while I was driving to work or taking the kids to school, not when I needed to.

I am proud to say that today I remembered! I remembered when I first woke up. I remembered to say thank you to God for giving us another day. I also made the decision to make it a great day. Guess what, it worked!!!

Until next time...

Week One: Day One

I made fajitas for dinner. I only ate two!

I created chore charts with my kiddos. We called them Helper Lists. We have NEVER followed through with our chore charts, so this is a big deal! I will not have a son who thinks his wife is to do all of the housework. I will not have a daughter who thinks she is never to lift a finger. I want well rounded, fun, loving people. I will do all I can to point them in the right direction. I do have to say that they were awesome little people tonight. They did what was on the charts that could be done and then some. And yes, I did let them know that they are awesome!!!

Until next time...
